Barney Actimates was a line of interactive toys produced by Fisher-Price in the late 1990s. These toys were designed to interact with episodes of the popular children's TV show, Barney & Friends, using a special VHS cassette tape and infrared technology. The toys included a plush Barney doll, a Baby Bop doll, and a BJ doll, all of which had sensors that allowed them to communicate with the TV show and respond to various cues throughout the program. These toys also had features that allowed children to interact with them directly, such as voice recognition and touch sensors. The Actimates line was discontinued in 2001, but the toys remain popular among collectors today.
